ABOUT THE REGATTA:
- The 5,000-meter race will finish at the Gonzaga boathouse on the Spokane River.
- This year's race will feature varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four, and four novice boats against Washington State.
LAST SEASON:
- The course was set at 4500 meters and the wind shifted a bit throughout the day.
- The Zags were edged by 10 seconds in the varsity eight race with Washington State coming in at 14:39, and WSU won by 13 seconds in the second varsity eight race with a time of 15:25.
- Gonzaga won the third varsity eight race with a time of 16:03, 16 seconds faster than the Cougars.
- The GU novice eight "A" boat won their race with a time of 18:05.
THIS YEAR'S CREW:
- The Zags return WCC Coxswain of the Year Alexa Jadallah, Newcomer of the Year Caroline Maguire, Lauren English, All-WCC honoree Isabelle Belzil, Olivia Lada, and Lindy English from last year's NCAA Championships varsity eight boat that finished 19th.
- The six of the nine members of the second varsity eight boat that finished 19th at the NCAA Championships last spring returns this season.
- The entire crew who rowed at the NCAA Championships in the varsity four last spring and took 18th, return this season.
THE FACES OF GONZAGA ROWING:
- Gonzaga head coach and WCC Coach of the Year Glenn Putyrae enters his 24th season with the Zags this fall.
- He has led the Zags to 14 WCC Championships and four NCAA Championships appearances.
- Assistant coaches Kari Durgan, Marisa Wortman, and Madison Keaty return for their sixth, third, and second seasons respectively.
NUMBER OF NEWCOMERS:
- 35 new rowers joined the team as recruited freshman or novices heading into this season.
- They made their debut on September 30 against Washington State on the Spokane River in a Small Boat Regatta Exhibition.
COACHES' QUOTE
"We have been spending a lot of time in the pairs this fall and we are looking forward to seeing how things go in the big boat," Gonzaga head coach Glenn Putyrae said. "This will also be the first competition for our novices and we are excited to see them race for the first time."

Directions to Gonzaga Boathouse
From Gonzaga University
Get on Hamilton Road heading South
Take a left on Trent heading East
Follow Trent about four miles to Park Road
Take a left on Park Road heading North
Follow Park Road North until it ends at the river
Go left one block and thru the gates to boat house
Once through the gates follow gravel road until you reach the boat house.
From I-90 from West
Exit on 282 (Trent/Hamilton Exit)
At bottom of exit take a right onto Trent
Follow instructions above once on Trent
From I-90 from East
Exit on 287 (Argonne Exit)
Head North on Argonne towards Mt. Spokane Park
Follow through four stop lights until you reach Trent
Take a left on Trent and follow about two miles
Take a right on Park Road heading North
Follow Park Road North until it ends at the river
Go left one block and thru the gates to boat house
Once through the gates follow gravel road until you reach the boat house.
