WROW Varsity 8 Named WCC Crew of the Month

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The Gonzaga women's rowing Varsity 8 crew was named the West Coast Conference Crew of the Month for March, league officials announced on Wednesday.
Gonzaga's Varsity 8 took a pair of duals from Pac-12 Conference foes during the month, earning victories over both Oregon State and Washington State.
The Zags, who are now ranked a program-record 15th in the latest poll, were able to edge out Oregon State on their home water of Dexter Lake with a time of 6:38.69. The Beavers finished in 6:41.02.
The following weekend, GU's Varsity 8 was at home at Silver Lake and took advantage when WSU caught a crab to earn the win. GU finished 1.2 seconds ahead of the Cougars in 6:40.61.
Gonzaga will be back in competition this weekend at the two-day Lake Natoma Invitational in Sacramento, Calif., on April 16-17. Check GoZags.com for race information ahead the regatta.
