Zags Tied for First after First Round

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- The Gonzaga men's golf team is in a tie for first place after the first round of the Saint Mary's Invitational. The Zags were six-over (290) on Day 1 at the Poppy Hills Golf Course.
Gonzaga sits even with Fresno State atop the team leaderboard, six strokes ahead of four teams, including the hosts Saint Mary's.
Tyler Munetake led the Bulldogs through the first 18 holes of the three-day tournament. The sophomore carded a 71 (E) in the opening round. He is two strokes off of first place after making 13 pars and a trio of birdies in Round 1. Munetake was two-under on the front-nine.
Just a stroke behind, David Ganz is tied for sixth at one-over (72). He was one-under on the front-nine and also made 13 pars. Ryan Gaske is tied for 13th after a 73 (+2) in Monday. The senior bounced back after going three-over on the front-nine, by going one-under on the back.
