NO. 11 SEED GONZAGA BULLDOGS SECOND ROUND TOURNAMENT NOTES
- Gonzaga starters were Kayla Standish, Kelly Bowen, Janelle Bekkering, Courtney Vandersloot, and Katelan Redmon.
- Gonzaga is now 30-4 and currently riding on a 20-game winning streak. The Bulldogs last loss dates back to December 29th against Notre Dame. The 30 wins is a new school record (for both men and women); breaking 29 wins GU finished with after the 2009-10 season. The Bulldogs next game with be against the winner of Xavier and Louisville.
- Gonzaga is now 5-4 all-time in the NCAA tournament in its fourth appearance.
- With 10:22 left to go in the second half Kayla Standish drained a 3-pointer to pass the 1,000 point mark. She was a key player for Gonzaga, reaching her 12th double-double of the season. She also scored 30 points, tying her career high, and grabbed 10 rebounds.
- Courtney Vandersloot scored her 2,000th point with 12:45 left to go in the second half. With 1:22 left to play the senior surpassed Tammy Tibbles for second in the Gonzaga record book for points scored. Vandersloot now has 2,019 points.
- With her 17 assists Courtney Vandersloot set a new career high. Her previous high was 16 set against St. Mary's on March 7, 2011. She is also now ranked 3rd in NCAA career record books with 1,102 assists.
- Courtney Vandersloot now needs five assists to break the NCAA single-season assist record.
