Men's Soccer Earns Ninth Straight NSCAA Academic Honor

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's men's soccer team has been honored for the ninth straight year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for academic excellence.
The Bulldogs posted a 3.27 grade point average to receive a NSCAA Team Academic Award. Gonzaga had the highest GPA among West Coast Conference programs.
Gonzaga was also one of 159 schools to have both the men's and women's teams honored, the Bulldog women posting a 3.48 GPA.
A total of 219 men's teams posted a 3.0 or higher GPA to qualify for the NSCAA Team Academic Award.
"I'm proud of our players for making a commitment to the classroom," Gonzaga head coach Einar Thorarinsson. "They are dedicated to academics and athletics, something we stress on a daily basis."
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology had the highest GPA at 4.20 on a 5.0 scale, while Lynn University of Boca Raton, Fla., posted a 3.50 GPA on the more tradition 4.0 scale.
