Huus Slips Into Tie For Fifth At Nebraska Amateur

OMAHA, Neb. - Gonzaga University senior-to-be Kyle Huus slipped into a tie for fifth after shooting a second-round 6-over par 77 at the 102nd Nebraska Amateur Championship golf tournament at the Happy Hollow Club.
Huus, from Sidney, began play on the back nine and opened with a double-bogey six on the 420-yard 10th hole, on his way to a 4-over 39. He had four bogeys and two birdies on the front nine where he was 2-over 38. Huus enters Wednesday's third round at 5-over 147.
Mike Coatman of Lincoln moved into the lead at 4-under 138 after a round of 68. He overtook first-round leader Ryan Nietfeldt of Omaha who is at 2-under 140 after shooting a 73 Tuesday over the par 71, 6,750-yard layout.
The cut for the final two rounds came at 14-over 156. Huus will tee off Wednesday at 8:42 a.m. Pacific Time.
