OGDEN, Utah - Trevor Loe is in ninth place and Gonzaga University's men's golf team is in eighth place after 36 holes of the Purple and Red Invitational on Monday.
The Purple and Red is co-hosted by Weber State University and the University of Utah at the 7,147-yard, par 72 Valley View Golf Course.
Loe had rounds of 74-68 for a 138, the only Bulldog to shoot a sub-70 round through the first 36 holes. But the Bulldogs showed the consistency they were lacking in the opening tournament of the season last week as no player shot higher than a 78.
Jimmy Hayes of the Bulldogs was tied for 31st at 149 after rounds of 75-74.
Gonzaga enters Tuesday's final 18 holes in eighth place at 591, one stroke behind West Coast Conference foe University of San Francisco and two shots behind sixth-place Utah State University. Host WSU sits atop the leader board at 565, good for a 5-stroke lead over Santa Clara University of the WCC.
Dustin Pimm of Utah is the individual leader at 138 with rounds of 70-68.
