COPPEROPOLIS, Calif. - Darkness halted second-round play Monday at the West Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship.
Gonzaga University was last in the eight-team field after the morning round of 18 holes, the Bulldogs shooting a 316 to trail Loyola Marymount University by five strokes. Pepperdine University held a 1-stroke lead over Saint Mary's College, the Waves shooting 284 and the Gaels 285. Santa Clara University was seven strokes behind the leaders at 291.
Trevor Loe was the top Bulldog after 18 holes with a 40-37 for a 77 over the par-72, 6,826-yard Saddle Creek Golf Club layout and a tie for 21st. Reyn Tanaka had a 42-37 for a 79 and was tied for 28th.
The second round will be completed Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes to follow.
