Men's Golf 11th At Cal Poly Tournament

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Gonzaga University is in 11th place following 36 holes of the Fideltiy National Title Intercollegiate men's golf tournament Thursday hosted by Cal Poly.

The Bulldogs shot a 36-hole score of 601 to trail Sacramento State University by four strokes for 10th heading into Friday's final 18 holes. The University of San Diego carded a 575 for a 5-stroke lead over Weber State University and Saint Mary's College.

Reyn Tanaka was the top Bulldog Thursday with a pair of 74's over the 6,761-yard, par 72 Cypress Ridge Golf Course for a 36-hole total of 148 to tie for 28th. John Bergren shot a 73-76 for a 149 to tie for 37th. Greg Lopez of Cal State-Bakersfield had a 70-67 for a 137 and a 1-stroke lead over Zavh Johnson of Southern Utah University.
