CHICAGO, Ill. - Gonzaga University senior Kelsey Posedel has been named to the Division I National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66 percent of the college's regularly-scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Posedel, a native of Salem, Ore., capped her career by finishing tied for 12th at the West Coast Conference Championships this past season. She carried a 3.63 GPA in business administration and marketing.
"Kelsey was dedicated both on the golf course and in the classroom," said Gonzaga head coach Robert Gray. "She is very deserving of an honor such as this. While it's a great individual honor, it also speaks highly of the emphasis we put on academics as well as athletics at Gonzaga."
