Women's Golf Shoots Opening Round 337 At Snowbird Intercollegiate

TAMPA - All five Gonzaga University women's golfers finished with opening rounds in the 80's as Gonzaga fired a 337 during the opening day of the 17th Annual Snowbird Intercollegiate held at the Pebblecreek Golf and Country Club in Tampa. The Bulldogs stand in 12th place in the field of 21 schools and are within 11 strokes off 7th place University of Texas-Pan American and only one stroke behind the University of Indianapolis for 11th.

Kelsey Posedel led the Bulldogs quintet with an opening round 81 to stand tied for 36th in the competition. Carrie DeGree followed with a round of 84 and Kate Siddell finished with an 85. Erin Picht (87) and Cathy Knutson (89) rounded out the Gonzaga competitors.

James Madison University leads the field with a 295 team score as the Dukes have three players in the Top 5 positions including first-day leader Carol Green, the only player under par with a 71.

Gonzaga completes play in the Snowbird Intercollegiate on Friday to wrap up its Spring Break trip to Florida.
