Coach Swaim Earns WCC Cross Country Honor

SAN BRUNO, Calif - Gonzaga University women's cross country coach Kevin Swaim has been named the West Coast Conference Coach of the Year in a vote of his peers.
Swaim's Bulldogs finished second in the WCC Championship Saturday, taking four of the top 10 places on the way to 40 points and a runnerup finish to the University of Portland. The Bulldogs improved three spots over last year's fifth place. It was Swaim's third WCC Coach of the Year honor, his second for the women's team.
Four Bulldogs also earned All-WCC accolades - Tana Caskey, Alanna Steinert, Emily Steinert and Paula Link.
The Bulldog women will compete in the Region VII meet Nov. 11 hosted by Fresno State University.
