Ryan Wright

Ryan Wright joined the Gonzaga Bulldogs in July 2025, with the upcoming 2026 season being his first with the team. Wright joins the Zags after spending five years in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system, where he served as the hitting coach for the Vancouver Canadians.

During his time with the Canadians Wright helped to develop five current major league hitters and coached nine batters to their major league debuts. During his third season on the coaching staff the Canadians won the 2023 Northwest League championship with the Canadians after putting together a 77-54 record, the best in the league and second-best record of any High-A team in minor league baseball. The Canadians have made the Northwest League championship series each of the past three seasons.

Prior to his stint with the Canadians, Wright served as the head coach for two collegiate summer league teams, leading the Kelowna Falcons and the Spearfish Sasquatch for a year each. During the collegiate season he served as an assistant coach at Montana State University Billings, where he completed a master’s degree in public relations. Wright helped the Yellowjackets to win four regular season conference championships in five years during his tenure, guiding MSUB to their first ever conference tournament win and first ever appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament.

A former collegiate baseball player, Wright completed a Kinesiology degree with Magna Cum Laude honors at Boise State after finishing a playing career that includes stops at Utah, Treasure Valley Community College, and Oklahoma City University.
