Josh Therrien joined Gonzaga University’s sports medicine staff in 2016, coming to GU from Oregon State University.
Therrien oversees the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room and serves as the primary athletic trainer for men's basketball, men's golf and women's golf.
At Oregon State, he served as an assistant athletic trainer for six seasons for the Beavers’ baseball team with secondary coverage for OSU football. His experience with the baseball program has also led him to serve as the head athletic trainer for USA Baseball’s U18 and Collegiate National Teams in 2011, 2012 and 2015. While working for OSU, he also was on the health oversight and student-athlete welfare committees, while also being the staff liaison for orthopedic surgeons.
Prior to his full-time position at OSU in 2010, Therrien was a graduate assistant for the Beavers for two years beginning in 2008, and earned his master's degree in exercise science in June 2010. Therrien also earned his bachelor of science in kinesiology degree from Washington State in December 2007.
