Jared Hertz enters his 21st year with Gonzaga University Athletics, and has been serving as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts since Sept. 2021. He is part of a team responsible for identifying and maintaining relationships with prospects for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts in support of the Athletic Department.
Hertz previously served in various roles in advancement and business operations, joining the Gonzaga Athletics staff in 2005 as the Director of Business Operations.
A native of La Verne, Calif., Hertz spent two years at UCLA before transferring to Gonzaga and earning three letters in the sport of Baseball. He was a two-time Academic All-American, earning Third-Team honors in 2000 and First-Team honors in 2001, as well as a First-Team All-West Coast Conference honoree and was named the Gonzaga Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2001.
Outside of his role at Gonzaga, he has been named to the Board of the College Baseball Hall of Fame and College Baseball Foundation. Hertz is also an Honorary Commander at Fairchild Air Force Base.
A two-time graduate of Gonzaga, Hertz earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance concentration in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration one year later. He resides in Spokane with his wife Kara (Svennungsen) Hertz, the Executive Director of Alumni Relations at Gonzaga, and their two daughters, Kyrie and Finley.
