Barry Henderson joined Gonzaga in September of 2014, after spending one year in a similar role at Western Oregon University.
Henderson oversees media relations and communications for GU women’s soccer, men’s soccer, women’s cross country, men’s cross country, women’s golf, men’s golf, men’s basketball, women’s track and field, and men’s track and field.
Prior to joining the Zags’ staff, Henderson was the main media relations contact for all 11 varsity athletic programs at Western Oregon University. His duties also included all marketing and promotions, ticketing, and game management at the NCAA Div. II institution in Monmouth, Ore.
Prior to Western Oregon, Henderson was the Director of Communications at Montana State Billings in 2012-13. He was the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications at Eastern Oregon University from 2009-12, while having the role of Sports Information Director for the Cascade Collegiate Conference from 2009-12. After graduating from Eastern Oregon in 2007, with a degree in media arts with a journalism concentration, he was a sports writer at the La Grande Observer from 2008-09.
Henderson resides in Spokane with his wife, Monica.
