SPOKANE, Wash.- Gonzaga Cross Country unveiled the 2026 schedule on Thursday, with the Zags set to take on six regular season meets before the Pac-12 Championship and NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The Zags will open the season by hosting the Clash of the Inland Northwest on September 4th in Spokane. Both the men's and women's cross country teams will look to repeat as Clash champions again after both teams swept the top five individual finishes at last year's Clash of the Inland Northwest.
Gonzaga will then take on their first major national meet of the year, traveling to Chicago to take on the Lakefront Invite on September 25th. GU Cross Country will return home to take on the Frank Knott Invite on October 3rd. The Zags will return to the national stage when they compete in the famed Nuttycombe Invitational on October 9th in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Bulldogs will then travel to Lewiston, Idhao on October 17th to take on the Inland Empire Classic. Gonzaga will host the Tyson Invitational on October 23rd, hosting a home meet in honor of retiring head coach Pat Tyson after nearly two decades of leading the men's cross country and track teams.
Attention will turn to championship season starting on October 30th, as the Zags will travel to Boise to compete for the first time in the Pac-12 Cross Country Championship. Two weeks later, on November 13th, the NCAA West Regional Championship will be held in Sacremento, with teams from the region advancing to the NCAA National Cross Country Championship in Terre Haute, Indiana on November 21st.
