July 1, 2026: A Historic Day for Gonzaga
Today, July 1, marks a historic day for Gonzaga University, as we officially join the Pac-12 Conference. This begins an exciting new chapter for our student-athletes, programs, and Zag community.
This moment has been earned through decades of sustained excellence, unforgettable teams, passionate support, and a standard of achievement that has made Gonzaga one of the most respected names in college athletics. From Spokane to communities across the country and world, Zag Nation has helped build the pride, momentum, and belief that brought us to this day.
As Gonzaga enters the Pac-12, our mission remains the same. We are committed to providing an exceptional student-athlete experience grounded in Gonzaga's Catholic, Jesuit, and humanistic traditions, our care for the whole person, and our pursuit of excellence academically, athletically, and personally.
For our fans, this new era brings expanded national visibility, compelling new matchups, new conference rivalries, and more opportunities to rally around the Zags. The Pac-12 will bring Gonzaga to new markets, new stages, and new audiences, while strengthening the connection that has always made Zag Nation special.
