Gonzaga Track competes in two more NCAA West events

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- Gonzaga Men's Track had another three runners put up solid times in the NCAA West Regional, competing across two events on Friday.
Paul Talens concluded his collegiate career by representing in the Zags in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, where he ran a time of 8:51.65. Talens finished 25th overall in the West, running with the lead pack in his heat while running even splits on each lap. He was joined in the steeplechase by Logan Law, who ran a 8:59.12 time to finish in 32nd place. Law competed in his first NCAA Regional championship while running in just his fourth steeplechase ever.
Logan Schwartz competed in the 5,000 meters, showing resilience with a solid performance in another difficult field after running in the 10,000 meters less than 48 hours prior. Schwartz closed out his freshman season with a 5k time of 14:36.30, taking 42nd overall place. The WCC Freshman of the Year in Cross Country, Schwartz will look to build on his two runs in the future NCAA West Regionals.
Gonzaga women's track will have two runners compete in the women's 5,000 meters on Saturday, with Rosina Machu and Logan Hofstee each taking on the race after a quick turnaround from the 10,000 meters yesterday. Machu secured a place in Eugene in the 10,000 meters, but both runners will look to once again secure a bid to the NCAA Outdoor Track National Championship in Oregon with a finish in the top 12 runners from the 48 runner field. The 5k is slated to start at 6:10 pacific time and will be streamed on ESPN+.
