
Women's Tennis Completes Second Day of Duck Invite

EUGENE, Ore. – Gonzaga women's tennis continued competition at the Duck Invite Saturday in Eugene, highlighted by a doubles victory and a pair of competitive three-set singles matches.
Sveva Zerpelloni and Elizabeth Tindera picked up a 6-1 victory in doubles action to open the day, while Aisulu Zholbolat and Karla Brown battled in a 6-4 loss.
In singles play against Oregon, Zerpelloni fell to Tilde Jagare, 6-1, 6-1.
Zholbolat battled Virginia Crocker, taking the opening set 6-4 before Crocker responded with a 6-1 victory in the second. The match was decided in a 10-point tiebreaker, with Crocker prevailing 10-1.
Brown also went the distance against Hadley Appling. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Brown responded by winning the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (2). Appling edged Brown in the deciding tiebreaker, 10-6.
Gonzaga continues action at the Duck Invite Sunday.
