Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 56 Cal Poly, 6-0

Zags (5-3) face Grand Canyon tomorrow morning
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Gonzaga women's tennis (5-3) was defeated 6-0 by Cal Poly on Friday at Ronca Tennis Center.
The 56th-ranked Mustangs (5-2) claimed the doubles point as Emily Robertson/Ella Nielsen and Norhan Hesham/Safien Boulonois each fell, 6-2. When the dual moved to singles, Lia Espinal/Rose Hayes were in a battle, knotted 4-4 with their opponents.
Cal Poly clinched the overall match, dropping Boulonois (6-2, 6-0), Espinal (6-0, 6-0), and Nielsen (6-2, 6-2) in singles. The teams kept playing, with Hesham falling 6-2, 6-3 and Hayes getting outlasted 7-5, 6-2. Robertson was leading her singles match at the No. 1 spot 6-3, 4-3 when the dual was called.
UP NEXT: The Bulldogs will stay in San Luis Obispo tomorrow, with a 9 a.m. dual against Grand Canyon.
