The Spokane-native has now earned the honor three times this season
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Wil Smith of Gonzaga earned his third University Credit Union WCC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award this season.
WCC UCU MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – WIL SMITH, JR. – GONZAGA
Smith led the Zags at the Nuttycombe Invitational with a ninth-place finish (23:32.5). The Spokane native was just over a half-second behind the leader at the halfway point and just one second back with 2000m to go. The race featured some of the nations top runners, with the NCAA Regionals and Championships just a month away.
