Three GU runners — James Mwaura, Yacine Guermali and Kristen Garcia will open up the season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, hosted by Boston University. The events will be streamed live on FloRunning.
The Zags' first meet at The Podium is set for Dec. 10 at the Spokane Invitational, followed by the Cougar Classic and Spokane Indoor Challenge Jan. 13-14 and a men's only trip to Seattle for the Washington Invitational on Jan. 28. Up next, a short trip up to University of Idaho for the D-I Team Challenge on Jan. 20-21 is followed by the WSU Open at The Podium Feb. 3-4.
GU women's runners rewrote the record books at The Podium over its first season in operation last winter, including new records in the 400m from Ellie Armbruster and 800m from Morgan Greene as well as eight individual performances that rank in their respective events' Top 10.
Both teams head up to Seattle for the Husky Classic the following weekend (Feb. 10-11). James Mwaura set the program record in the 3000m at last winter's Husky Classic, along with the fastest indoor 5K in history from Dominic Arce. All of the men's squad's Top 10 times in the mile, 3K and 5K have all taken place at UW's Dempsey Indoor. On the same days, another GU contingent will be racing at the Whitworth Open for the Bulldogs' final competition of the indoor season at The Podium.
The indoor season wraps up March 10-11 with the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Live results for all events and streaming links when available will be listed on GoZags.com. Follow @ZagRunning for updates, meet day content and more.
