Zags Run Season Bests at Whitworth Invitational

Gonzaga posts several new program top-10 times at Whitworth
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's track team returned to Boppell Track at Whitworth University for the second straight week for the Whitworth Invitational Friday.
In the 1,500 meters, Ally Legard placed third with a time of 4:34.56. She improved on her 4:39.67 time from the last week on the same track in the season-opening meet. Her new personal record ranks fifth in program history.
Paxton Depoe was right behind Legard Friday in fourth at 4:37.18. Brittany Hansen (4:40.82) and Lauren Haas (4:41.28) were seventh and eighth, while Liz Hogan was 10th at 4:42.69.
Morgan Greene ran the third-fastest 800-meter time in GU history. She placed fifth with a time of 1:00.07. Erin Ripple was eighth at 1:02.88.
In the 200 meters, Grace Dalton's time of 26.97 ranks third all-time at Gonzaga.
Alyssa Bienfang was second in the 800 meters at (2:19.24), while Legard was fourth (2:19.57). Depoe (2:21.15) and Hansen (2:21.67) were seventh and eighth.
Emilee Groth was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.63.
The Zag women head to Eugene, Ore., for the Northwest Distance Jamboree hosted by Lane Community College on April 3.
