Get to know Women's Cross Country & Track senior Molly Foster
The SAAC Student-Athlete Spotlight is a weekly series that will highlight and promote senior Zag student-athletes on and off the playing field. This week's student athlete is Molly Foster from the cross country and track team.
Molly is a History and English major with minors in Classics, Spanish, and Dance. She currently holds a 3.67 GPA and has made President's List. We caught up with the senior from Sebastopol, Califo., to gain some insight on her experience as a student-athlete at Gonzaga.
Favorite Sports Team?
San Francisco Giants
Favorite musical artist?
The Shins
What are you hoping to do with your degree post-graduation?
I'm hoping to teach English and History abroad, or to move to Italy, France, or Spain and work for a few years.
What is your favorite memory as a Zag?
Cheering on my team during our 2015 WCC Cross Country Championship
What attracted you to Gonzaga?
The size, the community, running, and the dance program.
What do you like most about being a student-athlete at Gonzaga?
I love the camaraderie that exists between all the student-athletes. Everybody is so welcoming no matter what sport they play, so it feels like you have connections and support all over campus.
Do you have any pre-game/match rituals? If so, give an example
I drink a cold brew coffee and a banana a few hours before the race, and I bring grape nuts to every track meet.
A weird fact about you that people may not know:
I have been a competitive figure skater for 10 years.
Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Gonzaga?
I think community service shows that all the student-athletes are really dedicated to leadership and service as well as to their sport and academics. Participating in the Spokane community through community service has allowed all of us to form stronger connections and appreciate all the opportunities and privileges that we have.
