Men's Rowing Takes on Tough Field at Kerr Cup

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga men's rowing team will compete against a tough field in the 50th annual Kerr Cup, hosted by Drexel University, in Philadelphia, Pa.
"The atmosphere here is tremendous for our guys to be apart of," head coach Dan Gehn said. "The Philly rowing scene is long and storied and this is the first time Gonzaga has raced here. We look forward to tomorrow's racing."
Gonzaga will feature three eight-man boats in the one-day event that is set to begin at 9 a.m. on the Schuylkill River.
GU will first hit the water with the Second Varsity 8 at 12:39 p.m. in a heat against Maryland, St. Joseph's and Delaware LWT.
The Varsity 8 will be up next at 1:42 p.m. against Fairfield, Mary Washington and St. Joseph's, followed by the Third Varsity 8 at 2:21 p.m. The 3V8 will be in a heat against a pair of host Drexel teams, St. Joseph's and Delaware LWT.
The Kerr Cup is one of Gonzaga's final three races leading up to the Western Sprints in mid-May. Next weekend, they'll face Oregon State before a scrimmage against Washington the following weekend.
