Women's Tennis Closes Out Fall Season At Regionals

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The fall season concluded Sunday for the Gonzaga University women's tennis team at the USTA ITA Northwest Regionals hosted at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the Stanford University campus.
Both Samantha Polayes and Kylie Peek competed in consolation matches Sunday after being eliminated from the main draws on the first two days of the tournament.
In singles. Peek prevailed over Erin Blessing (Eastern Washington University) 6-3, 6-2. Polayes was not as fortunate, narrowly falling 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (9) to Moira Hedberg (Eastern Washington).
Peek and Polayes also teamed up for a consolation doubles contest. They faced Sofia Holmberg and Thyra Taune (University of San Francisco). Unfortunately, they would come up shy 8-4.
The 2013 USTA ITA Northwest Regionals marks the end of the fall season. GU will resume play in January with a dual against Eastern Washington on the 31st.
