Drake, Courtney Turn in Solid Performances

MISSOULA, Mont. - Brandon Courtney knocked better than a half second off his 400 meter intermediate hurdles time and Lindsey Drake ran the fastest 1,500 meters of the season to highlight Gonzaga University's efforts at the University of Montana Open Track and Field Meet Saturday at Dornblaser Field.
Courtney finished fourth in 58.90, topping his previous season best of 59.60 set at the Buc Scoring Invitational at Whitworth College in his only other outing in the event this season.
Drake was sixth in 5:03.88 to better her season best by 11 seconds and eclipsing the Bulldogs season best of 5:05.14 held by Molly Funk.
Gonzaga will be in action again next Saturday at the Duane Hartman Invitational at Spokane Falls Community College. The Bulldogs will also send a limited number of competitors to the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Ore.
