SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's track team brought the curtain down on the 2007 season Saturday at the Duane Hartman Invitational hosted by the Community Colleges of Spokane, and the Bulldogs finished the year on a high note.
Five competitors posted season bests, including Joe Miller who ran a season-best 3:59.70 to finish third in the 1500 meters, bettering his previous best of 4:04.40 at the same track at the Sasquatch Mini Meet.
Ken Santman ran a season best in the 800 meters, finishing seventh in 2:01.37.
Emmylyn Bentley was fourth in the 800 meters in a season-best 2:23.32, Jenne Dilts took fifth in the 1500 meters in a season-best 5:33.11 and Martha Dobson was 10th in the 5000 meters in a season-best 21:15.77.
A couple of Bulldogs competed in a first-time events on Saturday, Noah Stout trying his hand at 5000 meters and taking sixth in 16:31.68, and Molly Funk in her first attempt in the 3000 meter steeplechase in 12:34.42.
