MOSCOW, Idaho - Gonzaga University opened the 2007 outdoor track season Saturday at the McDonald's Open at the University of Idaho with some solid performances from some underclassmen.

Sophomore Colby Litzenberger doubled in the mile and 800 meters, finishing fourth in the mile in 4:26.68 and sixth in the 800 in 2:03.09. It was his first time competing in either event as a collegiate.

Junior Ken Santman was seventh in the 300 meters in a personal-best 9:08.04

On the women's side, freshman Emmylyn Bentley was sixth in the 3000 meters in 11:23.29, and freshman Molly Funk was 12th in the mile in 5:42.18.
