Zags Defeat WSU for Second-Straight Week

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's rowing squad defeated Washington State University for the second consecutive week Friday at the Head of the Snake hosted by the Cougars.
In the first flight, the Bulldog Varsity 8+ finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 18:18.02. Washington State's Varsity 8+ finished nearly four seconds later in a time of 18:22.54.
Gonzaga and Washington State also faced off in the Novice 8+ race in the first flight. The Bulldogs claimed the top two finishes in the race. The Zag Novice 8+ A claimed the victory with a time of 18:46.60, while the GU Novice 8+ B closed out the course in 20:09.97. Washington State took the third in a time of 20:20.09.
Gonzaga began flight two with nearly a two minute victory in the Junior Varsity 8+. Gonzaga finished in a time of 18:44.06, while the Cougars finished at 20:29.34.
The Bulldog will close out their fall season at the Head of the Lake on Nov. 11 at the Lake Washington Boathouse in Seattle, Wash.
