Men's Rowers Medal At Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

SPOKANE, Wash. - Five current and former Gonzaga University men's rowers finished competition at the 123rd Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catherines, Ontario, picking up three gold medals and one bronze during the Aug. 2-7 event.
Former rower Mark Voorhees (Bow, Wash.) picked up a pair of gold medals rowing for the Vesper Boat Club. Voorhees earned gold in the Senior Men's 8+ and Senior Men's 4+. Voorhees also placed fifth in the Senior Men's Pair.
Nathan Wilson (Post Falls, Ida.), a 2005 GU graduate, joined Voorhees in the Vesper Boat that earned gold in the Senior Men's 8+ while picking up a bronze in the Men's 8+ 500meter dash.
Connor Barry (Walla Walla, Wash.), the lone senior on this year's squad, earned gold in the Senior B Men's 8+ rowing for Camp Randall Rowing Club.
Junior David Hinshaw (Soldotna, Alaska) and sophomore Scott McCoy (Fair Oaks, Calif.) also competed in the event placing fourth in the Senior B Men's 8+ while rowing for Penn Athletic Club.
